    Life is a circle -
it comes round again to its beginning.
All that you do comes back to you.
    The Bad is always chastened
and the Good not without reward.

Some wait long for their ship to come in,
but when it does it brings joy to the waiting.

God grant me the patience and gentleness
of little Teddy, who was parked in a driveway
these many years watching life pass him by.
Now our love will make up for his lost years.
He will live off the fat of the land,
sleep on the softest of pillows,
go for walks to sniff and enjoy
the world so long denied him.

Oh God, I adjure you, give me the heart
    of a little dog.
    He never questions his fate,
never complains of his lot in life,
and learns to live without the comforts he deserves.
I will learn from him the lessons of life:
    to take joy in living,
    to appreciate what I have,
    to help those less fortunate,
to live each day as if it were the only one given me,
and to wait patiently for Love to find me.

with love and gratitude for little Teddy Bear:hug:

When I watch my rabbits play happily, it brings me a sense of inner calm, and reading that and seeing the insights in it and the images, it has had a similar effect.

    That's beautiful.

He will bring you as much joy as you will give him.

That's lovely honey, really, really lovely words.

This is so very beautiful. And so very true. That an animal can go through so much suffering and still have love to give. You have such a way with words, and such a kind heart. I'm so glad that you and Teddy found each other. x

have you ever heard of Greyfriar's Bobby of Edinburgh? It's this adorable true story about a loyal dog. You should look it up. Lovely poem.

Yes, I have many books of 'dog stories' and Greyfriars Bobby is one of them. Made me bawl like a baby, it did. Human beings should emulate the dog.

Thank you all for your comments. I get teary eyed when thinking of him and his past life. Then I get deliriously happy thinking of his future life!
