ok, so what music would be playing in the background at the moment of your death?

I just love music, and there can never be enough music threads. Thus it made me wonder, if you had to choose absolutely one ultimate piece of music that you would listen to at the moment of your death, what would it be?

No, you cannot choose three songs, you cannot choose two songs. Only one song allowed for one person.

Of all the possibilities, for me it would be a hard choice between Beethoven's moonlight sonata and Bach's Prelude to Cello suite No. 1 (played by the amazing Mischa Maisky)...

But the winner would be Bach's Cello Suite No. 1 Prelude. It's just pure divine. I would die blissfully when I'd hear the final climax and then I could wither away, nothing else would be needed to make my death perfect.

    Cool :)

Just out of interest, have you heard Michael Nyman's 'Memorial'?

I'd have Ahleuchatistas's Imperceptibility or maybe something low-key by Royksopp.

That I haven't heard. But I will check it out now :)

    Edit:
Yeah, so I'm just listening to it. The intro sounded so familiar, hehe. It's pretty good indeed :)

That's a tough one. If my life would be cut short, I'd go with Royal Hunt - Last Goodbye. If by natural causes, I'd go with Dream Theater - Beyond This Life.

Sorry to pick two, but that's two completely different scenarios.

Brilliantly brutal, isn't it? But I don't think I'd want to die to it (too full on!).

The Bach, Cello Suite No.1 in G Praeludium - one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever, along with Debussy's Arabesque No.1 :)

Another one to die to could be Output by Blue States.

Aqua - Barbie Girl... because suddenly death feels like a relief.

Or more seriously, probably Nothing Else Matters - Metallica.

My first reply was an impulse reply.

If I had a choice I would choose, This Old House by the Brian Setzer Orchestra.

Moonlight Sonata, 1st and 3rd movement- Beethoven, preferably Kempff or Horowitz performing it

I want to leave in style.
