One thing less to enjoy... not that I really enjoyed it, anyway

I read about this game Manhunt 2 for Wii and PS2... it's being banned in many countries, for being too violent. Nintendo and Sony also has this retarded policy of not letting Adult Only games to be released for their systems. This is not about the game Manhunt 2, that I wasn't even interested in... this is about Adult Only games not being allowed on their systems. I am so sick of this shit. Why shouldn't extremely violent games be allowed to be released? Or pornographic games, for that matter? In regards to that, I mean ones with drawings or animations... games like bishôjo games. I understand that one can have disgust for real pornography, but if it's drawn, it's drawn. Same goes for extremely violent games. I don't have a PS2, but I do have a Wii and a Nintendo DS. I used to love Nintendo, before, but it's started heading towards a hatred, instead. I don't enjoy games, anymore, anyway. I have SO many Nintendo DS games that I haven't even opened, and the few I have opened, I have barely played. Same goes with the Wii, although there are quite few games for it, yet. I have barely played the ones I've opened... not even the Zelda game. I should sell all my games... I hate the companies behind them, anyway, including Nintendo.

Now I have one less reason to live. Evil Microsoft rules the PC world, too, and it's only getting worse with their Big Brother OS Windows Vista, so I should cease buying PC games, too... they require Windows. Now I have nothing left to enjoy... I might as well die.

Not sure anyone cares about this little problem of mine, but just wanted to say, I think I was overreacting, a little, when writing this. If I would have to boycott Nintendo, there are better reasons, than this particular one. Although, nonetheless, it is certainly extremely stupid, not letting adult only games onto their systems... especially in regards to pornographic games... there's just no way I will ever understand how it's more okay to release games about war or with senseless killing (Manhunt 2 is hardly the only game with that), than games, such as bishôjo games, where you try to find the love of your life, and upon doing so, eventually, of course, having sex. A romantic and beautiful game, gets an AO rating, and thus is unacceptable, but going to war and killing thousands upon thousands, and being claimed a hero, is just fine. Don't misunderstand, I think such games are fine, as well, but surely a game about love should be far more acceptable? What annoys me further is Nintendo's claim that the Wii will have something for everybody... well, surely not for those that want games about love! Meh.

With some irritation, I will not boycott them... but actually, I probably could, anyway, since I don't enjoy normal games, anyway... almost all the fun games, like the best bishôjo games, stay in Japan... although, at least some of the fun games, like Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, has got out of Japan... although, I haven't actually played them yet, but it should be my type of game... maybe I should remove the plastic from the boxes, this weekend.

Aside from it having been made by the extremely evil company Microsoft, it contains spyware and is riddled with DRM ("Digital Rights Management"), or content protection, everywhere. Every time you run a file, it checks against a database, if you have the right to run the file. I'm not sure how this works, and if it even does, but the goal is to hinder you from running a file you haven't paid for, even if it's just a news article. This is quite ironic, since Microsoft actually steal technology, themselves; they meet up with companies that show them technology, say they aren't interested, only to implement the very technology, shortly afterwards. When the small companies sue, they just appeal over and over until they go bankrupt, followed by Microsoft buying them. This has actually happened. Additionally, when it comes to the new HD ("High Definition") movies, you can, believe it or not, not even view the movies properly, unless you buy a whole new monitor, that is "Windows Vista approved."

Windows Vista is part of the grand TCPA ("Trustworthy Computing Palladium") vision, which is a world where all information will be controlled by some group; probably Microsoft, in the end. Of course, this cannot be achieved, unless it is a world like that in George Orwell's Ninteen-Eighty-Four, where "Big Brother" watches your every move. This might sound like paranoia, but I am only explaining the inevitable outcome of Microsoft's continued monopoly.

There's always Linux, man. Thank god for open source. It's hard, and alot of PC games just aren't right for Linux, but we'll see.

I hate Vista with a passion. I hear ya, it's ridiculous. YOu can turn alot of that stuff off, and atleast they have msconfig, and you can shut down alot of other things. I don't know how much you know about computers and such, but sounds like you know a decent amount. Vista is too resource hungry to be efficient, especially for games. It's way too slow, buggy, half the time it takes forever to get to the login screen. it's Ridiculous. My workmates have it, and I don't think I could ever use that.

But yeah, I hate it too. Let me know if you ever wanna vent with someone who shares interests man.

I will keep that in mind, Xibyll.

Darken... there are small things you can do. If many contribute with small things, it will add up to bigger things. First of all, don't buy Windows Vista (or any Windows version), and don't even download it, since that means indirect support. Download Windows XP or Windows Server 2003 if you need Windows (for games, for example). If games require Direct X 10, and, as such, Windows Vista, boycott the games, and preferrably e-mail the companies behind the games about your dissatisfaction, as well. Don't buy laptops, since they force you to buy Windows with it (nowadays Vista). If a game officially works on Linux (which, unfortunately, is rare), be sure to buy it if it interests you. I believe the upcoming Unreal Tournament 3 from Epic Games will, although I'm not certain... don't know of other games, though, although Bioware has released Linux updates, after the releases of games (Bioware mainly makes RPG games). Of course, one of the best things is installing Linux on a different computer or partition, but that may require some work and patience; especially if you wish to install on the same hard drive on which you have Windows. I myself have not ended up doing this... but my energy is very limited for some things; haven't even got my new computer running, yet... :/ the parts are quickly getting outdated...

By the way, I'm really depressed, again... although for completely different reasons, this time... just feel as if I should give up and end my life... I'm getting old (now 26) and I can see no positive outcome of my continued life. I cannot see how it will ever get better... :(
