    HOW DO YOU ASK SOMEONE?

    How do you ask someone
to be the last to die
    for a lie?

    And what will you tell
    the mother-or-father-less children
    when they ask you why?

It's really not so much a
    volunteer army
    as an employment service,

    except that this particular
    kind of job doesn't help
    so much as hurt us.

    I'm begging you now:
tell the dead of the promises
    you're not keeping

as they lie in that cold narrow bed,
    while their loved ones
    are weeping.

Tell the civilian casualties of this
    atrocity the "greater good"
    they cannot see.

I never could understand it -
    please explain it again
    to me.

How do you dare to ask someone
to be the last to die
    for your lie?

    least

Gandhi once said that he was willing to die for his beliefs but not to kill for them. I pray for that kind of strength.

No one but the ones who justify their own lies, for their own warped reasons, can answer that. And they never do, but with more bullshit...
