Painkiller sales jump in US

  1. More than 200,000 lbs. of codiene, morphine, oxycodone, hydrocodone & meperidine were bought at retail stores. That total is enough to give more than 300 mg of painkillers to every person in the country. Oxycodone is responsible for most of the increase, it's use jumped nearly sixfold between 1997 & 2005.

    More people are abusing painkillers because the meds are more available.

    And I just finished my bottle of percocet(oxycodone) :laugh:
