Do you think doctors should be allowed to screen teens for drugs at annual visits? Or do you think it infringes on their human rights? Do you feel this comes as a result of more and more parents becoming lazy and not bothering to know and talk to their children and actually parent? Or do you feel this is a good tool for parents? I personally feel that this is an infringement on their rights, and that it is my job to talk to my kids about drugs and test them if I see that they are behaving erratically or their personality changes or they start behaving in a way that is unusual and they refuse to talk to me about it. That by forcing drug tests on them we are teaching them that we don't trust them simply because they are teenagers. I don't have a problem with the doctor asking them about drug use, but forcing screenings on them is not going to show them that they are growing into adults and should be trusted as such, it's going to show them that because they are teenagers that nothing they say matters and that they have no rights.
