Has anyone watched this series? I watched it last night and think it is great - not corny and preachy, just really good stuff.

It is about a guy, I think he is a writer who travels to the homelands of many historically renowned philosophers (Socrates, Montaigne, Neitzche and others) and from their literature presents what he feels are the best lessons on life they have come up with.

    Is this it?

Philosophy has kept me alive for years, but it's got me too the point where my questions are too hard to answer and these questions have never been answered by anyone else, with science or philosophy.

It is awesome. My favorite so far is the one about Nietzsche. You really get a personal feeling of where the philosophers are coming from since you go to their hometowns, etc. Much better than the philosophy classes I had in college.
