For he did not know what crossed the path of his dreams
A greater darkness as a nightmare seems
Let it be the light of the mind shines bright
To push through the fear that grows in the night

The light shined and pierced the darkness thick
To regenerate it would be quick
It grew in power, it grew in size
For he could not believe his eyes

It held him, his gaze did not break
It shook with anger, bade the ground to quake
He turned to run and found he could not
Fear held him in that very spot

Would death come before the pain?
    Would he know happiness again?
This thing of fear and darkness did not say
For it was killed by the glory of day

What it is to be darkness

    To know cold ever hour
    The hunger growing to devour

The essence gone from shapeless form
Touch of light painful, no warm

    Souls shattered like fragile glass
Just as many in the past

    Darkness knows all the fears
    Darkness hears crying, feels tears

Darkness doesn't feel sadness or woe
Darkness will never let you go
