I feel you! My experiences with college portals have been nothing but frustrating. It's like you can't get access until you have done XY&Z and each step requires a different department in the college!
On the positive side, once admission and registration are over and a few bumps with the online class software (Canvas, Blackboard, etc.) the worst is over.

I hate that my brain is wired to keep hoping for the love and attention from a parent i will never get it from. Feeling ignored triggers the same regions of the brain associated with physical pain. I know and understand that having many innate needs not met as a child leaves a long-standing feeling of unworthiness, no matter how much time passes. But I have grown so much with my therapy and have improved so much that the only thing left that gets to me, is when my mother constantly ignores me. Day in day out, I get ignored. I have some of my basic needs ignored as well because I don't have any income so there are certain things I need that I can't get without her help. I hate how it still gets to me. I hate how that part of my brain still holds onto some expectation of her that deep down I know I will never get. I wish there was a way to remove it from my brain.
There used to be this commercial I would see on TV for West Virginia tourism, and they used the song "Take Me Home, Country Roads." That would be fine, but the way they sang it drove me crazy because they started it out in a key that would be too high for the singers, so they just changed keys right in the middle of the song. Right where it says "...I belong" they went into a different key, so the melody sounded all wrong. It was basically an affront to all music. I haven't seen that commercial in months, but I still think of it every time I hear that song. They were playing it a lot in a different commercial with Ted Lasso before the USA-Bosnia World Cup game.
I brought the laundry upstairs, which usually wouldn't be too hard since I would use the elevator, but since it's out of commission, I have to walk up flights of stairs and that's hard when it's like 90 degrees and humid. Then both washers are being used at the same time, probably by the same person. To top it off, they have strewn their clothes all over the floor, like it's their personal trash heap or something. If they don't take their clothes out of the washer soon, I'll take them out myself and put mine in.
I had my fourth laser hair removal session yesterday, in my fight to be rid of the beard. There had been some hair regrowth, so it was the most painful since my first. Like, it was bad enough that the technician performing the procedure's eyes were watering like crazy, just cos she could tell how much it sucked.
Then she went back over it on a setting that shouldn't have hurt, by my hair's just that thick that it still did. Which she confirmed wasn't just me being sensitive, she saw the hair reacting in a way it shouldn't have. Now today my face feels really weird to the touch, and tender.
Still though, that means it's done some major work, so i'm looking forward to a couple of weeks from now, when a bunch of the hair follicles fall out and i'm a major step closer to the smooth face i want so much.

Ouch! Do they use any type of a numbing cream or local anesthetic? Or would it react with the laser and cause a more unpleasant experience?
Just cold air. It blows out the device they use for the procedure, and helps provide a mild numbing effect and reduce the heat and pain of the laser on the skin. They don't use any kind of numbing agent, i think cos it's painful, but a bearable level of pain, so for a 15 minute procedure it'd be a bit excessive. No need to risk people having reactions to anaesthetics if it's something you can just power through.
Main way i can describe the sensation is it's a bit like having a tiny taser repeatedly applied and moving steadily across your face. Unpleasant but bearable. It's just worse for those of us with thicker hair, like AMABs trying to get rid of our beards. Or for people with darker skin/lighter hair.
In the end, the ones i feel really sorry for are the technicians. They've told me they've been punched, kicked, even bitten, in response to the procedure. I can't imagine coming to work every day knowing i may well be assaulted by the people paying me to do the things that make them attack me.
