A few minutes ago somebody came into chat, we were talking about death metal, and this nut chastised people for listening to music 'dissing the lord'.

I want people to stop posting their fucking religious beliefs on other people. You can try and prove that god exists to athiests, and you may be right, but it starts conflicts and it successfully pissed me off.

I contacted Abacus21 about this thread and he said he'll check it out, so if this is allowed, don't say it's insulting another member, because I have it approved by a mod.

Religious debates so dont belong on this forum, religious beliefs are good, they give people hope and hope is good, but I agree no one should push their beliefs on others..

Religious debates always upset someone, live and let live, let other members believe and think what they want, and if you want to debate Suicide & Religion then use the soap box, not the chat room where people are vulnerable

Amen. :P

Writting as a Christian (sue me)...

...Why do people feel the need to do that? I've never needed to randomly make my beliefs the be all and end all of something, and I don't think I push them on anyone... Do I? You'll tell me if I do, right?

Well, I could see a Christian being upset over Black Metal, not Death...

Anyways, imposing your religion on others, isn't great, though I don't believe this is the case, from what I gather in the original post.

I'm a Christian and a fan of metal, Slayer being my favourite.
I can fully understand and appreciate some genres/bands of metal
offending a pious person.

Unless someone tried to stop you from listening to your music, I don't understand your angst.

Pretty much agreed.

Religious debates never get anywhere, especially in chat... they just bring in the drama llama.

Copy of the forum rules:

• Religious Discussions are now limited to the Soap Box forum, any threads outside this forum that turn into a religious discussion will be copied over to the Soap Box forum and the discussion in the original thread pruned so that support may be given and allow the discussion to continue unabated without hijacking the intent of the original poster.

Just so everyone knows

i was actually referring to jedi, it's not about knowing the rules or not, a room to vent is just a place where you don't have to say factual realities

First of all, I listen to death metal, and it's my favourite genre.

Second, I was talking about black metal, and gay bands like Marduk and Cradle Of Filth.

Third, watch your mouth
