    The fist crashes down.
    The voices rise.
    The faces frown.
And the child in the corner cries.

    The covers lifting.
    The man sighs.
    The hands drifting.
And the child in the bedroom cries.

    The hateful faces.
    The spiteful lies.
    The violent chases.
And the child in the schoolyard cries.

    The unloved ones.
    The forgotten graves.
    The broken bones.
And the child no one saves.

And the child in the corner cries.

I know this sounds wrong, but this is lovely. Or written lovely. Or just very very very well done. The tightness of the verses, written so the reader can visualize the action, the final line bringing it back to the beginning. I love it!
