    I sit in the darkness
    without a candle
with no one to light it
    and no where to be.

    I sit in the darkness
    alone with the monsters
    my faith is in ruins
    Lord, why am I me?

That's so melancholy, yet exquisitely beautiful. Succinct and poignant.

PS: Btw, I think you're you because you're special and wonderful.

I looked out over misted roads,
    darkened skys,
    soulless traffic

    Prayed to unknown Gods
    felt priceless,

This sounds like Bob Dylan could have written are quite the talent...I want more lyrics and then we can ask some of our truly talented musicians to put it to music (Gentle is quite the phenon)..J

Numb in not having to know,
    Not needing to feel,
    Not wanting to see,

    Only hearing,

    Birdsong on the wind,
    Choral chords in empty halls,

    Shred of being running free.

    Again, so well said:

    and you inspired this:

    Spiritual Recitation

Your kind words touched my heart
in a place I feared had died.
Can a moment’s worth of lightness
    pierce the darkness deep inside?

    As a reply,

    We watched from afar,

Overseers of flocks, respectful and dour,
Solid and stolid through the weathering winds,

Now we tear at shared wounds
    Older than time,

    Found solace in shared blood.

    Later smiles
    Longed for and given.

    Oh happy day.

    Amazing Grace
    How Sweet the sky,

The sky we don't look up at
    Because there's nothing to see

    The Dark sky at night
    Depressive's delight

    The comfort in nothingness,
    In unpaddled dark waters
    Dragging us down
    As we gasp longingly
    Without desperation

    For air.

As I drive towards the light
    To bite another sunrise

Was thinking about how the day started:

    I cannot feel you today,
    I know you are there.

    I hear the faint whisper
    of a familiar voice.

    But my hears
    are deafened
    by my breaking heart.

    And my mind
    is too muddled
    by my despair.

So I will reach for you
    if I can hold out
    my hand
    long enough;

    And stand
    brave enough,

    to be touched.

And with the grace it ended...thanks again all...your gifts leave me feeling blessed...J
