Tree Roots digging into bloodied soil
Grasping that foundation with frenzied faith
    Feeding on mental torture
    Like some pathetic moisture
    Giving fake sustenance

Those dying roots, begging for renewed life
But still clinging to that dried underground
They lick decay and barren slush
    A passive battle rages
    Inner conflict causes deformity

Those hopeful roots curl into each other then
Cracking and in pain, they grasp the other side
    Intertwined, hugging, they then rest
In their demented form of affection

    Bound unto death...
