Scared of getting older

I think this is what you call a "quarter life crisis"? I'm in my late 20's and I'm freaking out about my future. I haven't really done anything "important", or at least that's what my mother told me, and I'm almost 30. And I'm still alone. No boyfriend/spouse, a family of my own. Deep inside I thought I wouldn't get to this age so I didn't really "prepare" anything, you know? I'm going with the flow, but I'm truly scared and don't know what to do.

People should be able to enjoy their life without the pressures from societal norms or standards.

Hopefully you find a way to accept your own pace at life’s milestones.

If we rush having a family or unplanned family, we often make poor choices.

It is okay to cruise through life as long as your necessities are met and you’re happy and content.

I wish you the best.

It is a scary situation. Even those who lived responsibly and took care of themselves and their finances are getting worse and worse off unless they are truly wealthy and face that uncertainty of the future. Most of us, myself included, even if we have not done badly things are just average through all aspects: health, wealth, relationships and age will wear you and down you and out. The aches, pains and issues throughout the all life just bear down.

Yeah, it always makes me question "why am I here then?"

Because you are unique.
You are a masterpiece.
Your journey has your personal experiences - triumphs and mishaps.

In the future you will look back and see how far you’ve come.
Thank you. I was actually just thinking about this. I remember all the struggles that I've overcome in the past that got me to where I am now. The journey was perfect in the way that it shaped me to be where I am today.

One day I'll look back and say that my timeline is perfect

hey puffymilk, your doing really well right now regardless of whats going on around you. iv been going with the flow since i had little legs but not by choice i cant help it its how my mind works which affected everything i did. never had future plans my mind wouldn't let me think that far ahead no matter what i did. I had to work around it meaning just go with the flow don't overthink stuff that's out of my control. just try and go slow with planning etc your mind is probably like mine. And a little advice hopefully other people know and it helps, are body's are the most complicated to understand when it comes to mental health. just remember when are minds and hearts decide to kick us down its because its resetting. it doesn't want that life no more no matter how much you fight it like trying to enjoy things that brought you joy. when it does that you have to let it happen it's going to happen regardless but the more you fight it the longer it takes. yea your gonna feel really bad with feeling hopeless basically lifeless but that's part of the minds reset. it doesn't like the life you have somethings in your life hurt you give you so much negative that it gives you time to make peace with anything that's hurting you even if you don't know what's causing you all that. your mind runs 24/7 never stops it counts on you to keep your mind as calm as you can. but when it cant take anymore it resets getting rid of all the crap everything that brings you pain suffering. you have to let it and understand it your not gonna enjoy things after it resets that you liked it will just feel different. forgive me i know iv not worded things right but so much is going on i cant concentrate. anyway puffymilk don't worry about being single i turned 40 august been single almost 10 years now its the last thing on my mind cos i need to sort myself out before any of that but that's me. it will happen when you least expect it my advice is for now the only person you should be focusing on is you my friend. nothing around you is more important than you its your life your soul you decide what you need whats best for you but the more you ignore yourself the more shit you'll have to deal with down the road, i can guarantee you nobody's gonna be there for you when you shut down feeling lonely so try and shut out the shit that others try to hurt you with.

I’m about that age, just today I was thinking about the same thing, as I am everyday.
But more so, what if in 10-20 years my parents fall sick or something? How can I take care of them when I’m abroad. And my mom always tells me to look after my little sister who is about the same age as me when she is gone. She is on so many meds with anxiety, and my heart hurts when I think about her too nowadays. I try not to show my family how bad I am doing because of her.

What I'm scared of about getting older is what I'm going to look like. And a little bit about how I'm going to live because I don't work. I trust God to get me through these things.
