I wrote this earlier this year. I think in May:smile:

    Search for Myself

    There was a time
    A while
    When I found myself
    Wandering
    Through the battlefields of
    My memory
    Searching for myself
A sign of who I was
But I was nowhere to be found
    Lost
The cold wet moors of my mind
    Stretching for miles
    Rain drenching my sodden clothes
    Weighing me down
    I fell to the ground
Tears forming rivers down my cheeks

While I lay the Sun dried the land
    Forming a never ending desert
Cracks appearing in the solid earth
    Old memories forming
    I prayed for the rain
    To soothe my parched throat
But knowing that the rain would turn these new found memories
    To slushy mud again

    I couldn't win

    Vultures flew overhead
    Waiting for my lifeless body
But a drip of water fell from the sky
    Beginning to fill the cracks
    With lushious grass
And now I see it beginning to bloom
My ray of hope for the future

Very vivid imagery! I'm glad it ends with that ray of hope and I hope that you're you're feeling that ray these days.
