Im not sure if this is right place to post this but i wasnt sure where else to. Im seeing things in my flat tonight, at first it was just out of the corner of my eye, like a shadow or something. but then i was washing up and i felt someone behind me. not a physical feeling, just like that feeling you get like you are being watched. i turned and saw a shadow run out of my view. this really startled me because it was a shadow in my full view. i checked and there was noone in my flat and the shadow was not my own. now i am seeing more solid things but still not too well, they are like half the size of a human and kind of bulky. they seem to only be in the corners of my rooms except not im my bedroom thank god. it scares the crap out of me but when i go for a close look they go away. What the hell is this? I havent been drinking or taking any drugs and i am very freaked out by this. i dont want to leave my room

Sounds like you might have a spirit or entity in your flat. Don't be afraid of it. Let him know that you're the boss.

In my last house, I had the exact same thing. This lasted for about five years, and I was just used to it by then - I even named it Tori XD Still not too sure if I believe in that, but my grandma is somewhat an expert in that field, and she says that if it stays in the corner of your eye then it's a 'friendly' ghost. It's when the ghost (or w/e it is) starts knocking things off shelves or scaring you purposefully where it is a 'bad' ghost. Like I said, not too sure if I believe in it, but hey, there you go.

This sounds like the beginnings/onset of schizophrenia. It might not get any worse, but if it persists for another day or so I would head on over to the doc and inform them of whats going on. There are meds that can make living with such a psychosis illness incredibly bearable and even feel like you dont have it apart from popping the meds.

Do you drink coffee? Because there was some research a few weeks ago stating that people who drink alot of coffee tend to see things that aren't really there, such as ghosts etc.
I don't know if I believe that or not, but I don't drink alot of coffee. So I wouldn't know if it's true.

Either that or you really do have ghosts in your flat >.>

If it's really a ghost I hope it is a friendly one and decides to leave me alone.

I hope it's not the beginnings of schizophrenia, i will look into that but i don't think i have any other of the sypmptoms.

I don't drimk coffee, but I have the occasional black tea not enough to cause hallucinations though. I think I am the only person who has seen these things in my flat, i dont really believe in ghosts but recently i keep feeling like there is someone with me when i am alone. sometimes the odd noise will freak me out but that could be anything. A few times i have wondered if i have seen something out of the corner of my eye before but i usually dismiss this as me being paranoid. Another weird thing i get while at my pc though is a flash of light, again, in the corner of my eye as if there is a flickering light there. i turn to look and see nothing and dismiss this as too much time at the pc

schizophrenia is a bit of a stong word, esspecially if you dont have other symptoms. psychosis doesn't necessarily mean you're schizophrenic, you can get it with bipolar and even depression or anxiety, then there's different levels of different things, i wouldnt go pinning a diagnosis on you without seeing a doctor, and even they might leave it fairly open, often prefering to treat the symptom instead of applying a label

with all that said, it could be something even more simple like stress or tiredness, even if you dont feel either, this may be your body and minds way of telling you

If you believe in this sort of thing, I would suggest shadow people. They're spirits, very similar to what you've described. I've done some reading on them after I started seeing something similar in my old house. For the most part, they don't do much except startle you now and then; they're pretty much harmless.

I have seen, felt and heard many ghosts/spirits in my life. I fully believe in them.

However...for the past couple months, I was seeing things--much like you're describing--quite frequently. Often something flying out of the corner of my eye, shadows here and there...one night I slammed my foot on the brake when I was driving because I thought a cat had just run out in front of my car, but as soon as I did that, I realized there was no cat...it was a shadow.

I did bring this up to my doctor, as I was feeling fairly certain that these were not ghost sightings. She confirmed for me that since I'm in a depression at the moment, my sensitivity to everything is heightened at the moment (hence high anxiety, etc. as well), so it makes sense that I pick up extra little bits of light and shadow so frequently.

I can't explain it well, but it made sense to me. And once I just accepted it as such, I stopped seeing things.

That's just me...but it was very recent that all of this happened, so I do understand how frightening it feels when you just don't know what's going on.

It could be depression, recently I have been feeling extra low and high anxiety. I still see them most nights, once in the daytime, but its only in my flat. Im going to be moving out soon anyway so will see if I get the same thing at my new place

Hey Pad,
I get the same thing. I see things in shadow all the time. The other night I was on the computer and my closet door is next to my desk. I saw a shadow of a full figure on the door, I thought my sister had walked into my room but when I turned around there was no one there.
I see shadows out of the corner of my eyes all the time, and here recently I have started seeing them dart across in front of me when I am on the computer. I don't let it bother me. I guess I have just grown accustom to them.
I have talked to my shrink about them several times and he keeps asking me if I hear voices at least a half dozen times each visit. I just tell him no doc no voices just the shadows. He doesn't seem to concerned about it.
My sister thinks I am possesed because my exfiance was into witchcraft. I don't beleive that and she tells me you don't know how much weird shit is out there from people dabbling into things they don't understand. If it's a spirit it must be friendly because I have not had any bad experiences with it.
Take care and your not alone!!~Joseph~
