Wathing a tv series ."Shaudanfrauda is karmic suicide" was said in a scene at a wellness centre .Obviously i dont agree with "karmic suicide" and this was said in a fictional tv series .
It has me thinking of Shaudanfrauda .im admitting i have this today.the last year or two fairly bad when i got sicker and sicker .
i think ive had an undertone of this my whole life and im onto to why .the negative is destroying me and winning ,its like since ive become aware of my negative projecting to others ,in an attempt to curtail this ive turned inwards on myself ,thus why im suffering so badly .
Any thoughts and opinions on Shaudanfrauda welcome .
peace.

Haha, this is my favourite foreign word. Had this going on when my stepmum was unwell/dying. I am so so happy she is gone, so it has never really passed. I know that's not a nice way to think, but she was a psychopath. I came very close to death because of her mind games. I was luck I didn't need a liver transplant. Bye, b****!

scha·den·freu·de/ˈSHädənˌfroidə/

noun
pleasure derived by someone from another person's misfortune.

looked this up on the interwebs as the term is new to me

in what way do you think this applies?
HI Angie.
I tend to think it derives from ones jealousy of others because one can lack a quality or ability but @Pebble mouse situation would be for a different reason .
Since i have admitted this trait to myself ,i will do more research .
Schadenfreude has probably got a scale of intensity to it .
I interpreted the scene as its karmic on the person that is displaying Schadenfreuden ,,similar to drinking the poison yourself in regards hatred of someone else .

I have this on the lowest level - like can't help but laugh when someone trips and falls. But laughing because they're dying? A far amount extreme for me. Even if I disliked someone intensely I wouldn't be like "hm yeah great, you had that coming"
Hi walker .from my research recently ,your example barely makes the definition or at all .
thats a good thing .
Peace.

Hi Matt 😀 I know that's a taboo thought, but I'm just being honest. I came very close to death because of her. I'm not going to pretend online that I'm not glad she's gone. IRL, that is different.
Hmmmm... Maybe I'm simply too honest. My dad wasn't in a good relationship with her either. Very manipulative and controlling with him too.
I personally wouldnt feel bad or guilt for someone that is no longer around that caused such mayhem in someones life .Obviously this women was very sick inside her self .
Hope she didnt leave any life long harm or if she did hopefully you can get help to undo her harm .
Peace.

A good explanation .
sadly i have it bad this year because of a midlife crisis and bad depression.mines connected to envy and jealousy and low selfasteem .i cant be around any freinds because there the type that would remind me what i lack .

Those things definitely fall into that definition: your ex gained weight, it rained when your colleague went on your dream vacation, CEO going to prison or football player gets a concussion when tackled. All those things fit the description of the term - probably moreso than people who are wishing *death* on others.

I put the video up for anyone to draw there own conclusions .
I take back what i said ,i shouldnt be "diagnosing " anyone .
Because i started the thread ,i have to say to i dont see the words "wishing death" written by anyone .glad someone is gone is different .
Ide rather the thread be closed than it causing any arguments .
Total respect to everyone .
Peace .

I don't think anyone is arguing. Looks like someone explaining how they do fit the definition. It's a conversation, and people have different views on things. He to not wanting someone to die in his original comment, so I would assume the wishing death was in reference back to his own comment. Like I said, I don't think anyone is arguing here, just expressing their own personal viewpoints.

As for myself I often find humor in my mother's misfortune, which eh, but that woman is something else. I typically don't feel that way about most people. I do also laugh at people falling, hurting themselves in weird ways, weird accidents, the racking all fell down in the warehouse because x,y,z ect. America's funniest home videos was mostly made possible by this. In the general sense I'm not into the misfortune of others though.
