hands seek a path blindly through the darkness
all that’s left is containment walls of stone
the exits have been sealed and paths removed
alone in silence trapped within my own mind

the dim light which once glowed upon the path
has now been replaced by my silenced voice
a repeat of the “shhh”’ my dad told me
by those who once welcomed my thoughts

the walls of this man made hell closing in
my heart’s now compressed between rough stone
scarred from the abrasive edges of life
losing the will to seek exits true path

when silence besets upon the dark ruins
and purpose has taken a break from me
for then what need is there left to fight
if all paths conclude to a slamming door

PM me if I can be of any help. As to the poem? If I could add anything more pertinent than what is already here I would do so.

    Thinking of you,
