Sorry to flood the forum, it's just been awhile and I had the urge to share...

    Scribble Scribble.
Messy handwriting too slow for the mind.
Blood scratching against the inside of skin
    an irritating scrape
heavy light and close to pain.
    Scratch. Scratch.
    Words and thought
    a torrent behind tired eyes.
    hauling themselves in hitching
    determined steps
a body dragged across the rough floors of a brain.
    Rustle. Swish. Thump.
A sleeping form rolling over in a bed
    crisp sheets sibilant
    a chair thrust backward
    across uneven boards
the closing of a book and the killing of a light.
Hiss creak. Murmur. Scrape Creak Thud.
    Crackle swish. Click.
