    Public place
    heart flutters
    how do I look?
    I bet I look ugly
    all eyes upon me
    watching me
    judging me
    laughing at me
    everyone around
    talking load
I can't think what to say
    I feel left out
    sweat beads roll
    hands tremble
    voice shaky
    stop looking at me!
    throat tightens
    tears well
    no you can't cry!
do you want to draw more attention?!
    swallow hard
    hold it back
    on second thoughts..
    just go home
    this is too much

When I was in my 20's I was soooo social phobic, I couldn't comprehend ever not being so. But, you can. I guess I did it 1 instance of courage at a time, till nothing's left of it.

Hi this is my first proper post, I can totally relate to your poem < Mod Edit > it's a horrible feeling. I've had SA since I was about 12 - I didn't know what it was until last year, i just thought I was weird (as did my family and friends)! now I know other people feel the same. It's been part of my life for so long I don't think I'll ever get 'over' it, but i don't mind cos i don't know anything different!!
