  1. Used up and beaten
    Humble, defeated,
    Bereft and pale
    as the moon at dawn
    Who am I, what’s left,
    weakened by fate
    The twists and turns
    and dizzying heights
    have vanquished my sight,
    not wishing to see anymore
    Yet someone looks into my tired soul;
    Thinking me worthy,
    and the meekest remains of my self as whole,
    they seek and find grace
    in this face I’m afraid now to show,
    removing the thorn, and loving the rose in me
    Someone who knows
    that the shame I bear
    was not who I used to be
    Someone who cares…

    For all the truly special people here, with love

  4. I THOUGHT you were on vacation!!!! (Sadeyes said so...first voice this morning - and grateful...)

    Get thee hence
    to your place of rest,
    outside of your skin;
    or to the deepest,
    most peaceful place within

    Love and hugs back,

    Not yet, I leave this coming Saturday. I'm working my butt off this week for money (to spend there and pay bills before I leave) and to get things ready to go.

    Your poetry is absolutely amazing and perceptive and beautiful - especially read aloud, I imagine that when I'm reading it to myself.:smile: I'm a captive audience to you and all the other fine poets here. Poetry is a way to give a little peek inside your mind, to share feelings with friends, and to vent feelings without doing damage...:rolleyes:

    Keep 'em coming...:smile:
