I was in a band for many years. A little while ago it broke up cause our guitarist broke his wrist horribly. I was our singer/songwriter however not everything I write suited our music so I thought i'd share one of the lyrics that didnt quite make that cut but is still very dear to me. "I recall the days when we wandered the fields Through enthralled eyes to your beauty I’d yield Never able to defy the longing in my heart Evermore enchanted by song woven bards. Songs of beauty and despair Hymns of tragedy where created there Perfect tale but for the jealous gods Ensnared by grief, the day that all was lost. Here we stand at the precipice of doom Forever in love before for the dawn of gloom Unleashed when day slowly shifted into night The moon arose to witness my endless fight. I see the flesh and smell the blood. So innocent they stand before the flood One strike of paw and they fall to the ground One strike of claw, only carcasses to be found! Forever curse by the tainted gods above All to me is lost but for my deepest love Her innocent eyes would sway the beast inside Her final breath would force the taint to slide There she lay, hopeless as she died There I stood, hopelessly I cried. I curse the gods to bestow this suffering To lift this curse I had to forgo everything I recall the days when we wandered through these fields Through enthralled eyes to her beauty I would yield. Never will pure love embrace my heart That fateful day, when love was torn apart!"
