  1. Sorrow is the slow lap of waves
    eroding away the shoreline,
soaking the sand in ten billion tears
in each instant they wash over the mind

Sorrow, the engulfing moan of wind
rustling each leaf on every tree
    echoing the sound of sighs
    in the soul’s darkest valleys

Sorrow is a mountain too steep to climb,
each step a lament and cry
for leading only down, not high,
    where vision might clear,
    and lift ones sight,
    to life, this gift…
But oh sorrow, swallows one whole
In this fathomless sea nothing changes
    and each moment within it
feels like ages that do not end
Where hope breaks like the waves,
    and cannot bend;
    too brittle now
    too little left, how
    the heart aches
remembering endlessly how it came to this place
    of no Tomorrow…
