    Is anyone here on disability or considering applying for disability?

    nope, psych wanted me to but i've not lived in ireland long enough for benefits (you have to be here two years)... i have two part time jobs instead. struggling through...

    from what i know it's alot of paperwork, but can take some financial stress off for the time you are on it.

    I am on SSI. I got my first check in January. It's on mental and physical.:unsure:

    Sorry, i only know about the English system.
    Do you have an agency which you can visit to ask for advice? (like we have citizens advice bureau)
    They would be able to take you through everything.

    I'm on Social Security Disability (psych). Have been for many years...

    I am disability.

    If you are thinking about applying: do it. It takes a while usually.

    Most people get turned down a couple times. I got denied twice. Had to appeal twice and finally went in front of a judge.

    In all it took about 2.5 years to get it. But the good thing is, once you get it, you get all that in backpay. (From the time they determine your disability started)

    For the most part it's all based on yer medical records.

    So make sure you have a nice history.
