    Someone once said to me:

"The night will come when you will thank God and the stars above that you kept fighting through all the pain and chose life."

What do you guys think? Was my friend full of wisdom or full of BS?

Either way, a few decades on from then, I find I am still waiting for that night...

ATM I'd say BS. In a month, a week I might say wisdom.

If the times comes that you do feel thankful that you kept fighting, it would be because of your own strength and those you felt helped you through it.
So I'd call BS, but that's just how I'd feel about it.

I think it's true, but would say the real point is how can one survive until they get to that point? If your so overwhelmed by pain and suffering "fighting" is just not enough.

I stopped believing in god a long time ago. Never answered a single prayer. Big joke.

I'd say wisdom. Death is inevitable for all of us, whether it's by our own hand, or other means. So, why not hang around a bit longer? None of us can predict what will happen in the future, and maybe, just maybe, something will happen and it will all be worthwhile.
