    Suicide

Lethe is the goddess of oblivion,
    Her sister Styx—of hatred,
    Brother Acheron is pain,
    Pyriphlegethon—fire,
    Cocytus stands and wails.

Five siblings, three brothers, two sisters
    Welcome us to Hell
We enter thinking we can choose
    Whose river we will cross.

    Then, them we meet,
    Grinning skulls shining through
    Their beauty.
    Muttering betwixt themselves,
    They decide.
They decide which god we greet.
They decide whose river we cross,
    They decide
Which corner of Hell is ours.
