I've had little to no suicidal thoughts since I've started taking Abilify, but this one piece we have to listen to in music theory suddenly plunges me into an array of visual and non-visually suicidal thoughts. But because its for a class, it seems unavoidable.

The song is
Mahler's "Kindertotenlieder" (Songs on the Death of Children)
Specifically #2 and 4.

Any suggestions for how to suppress the thoughts while still listening to the songs for class?

i wiould ask your teacher to see if there is another piece for you to work on and explain to teacher what it is doing to you. I can see why it would be an awful trigger and if it is making you unwell you need to tell someone okay No need to suffer if not needed. See if it is possible to use a different song.

Unfortunately it's a huge lecture-type class... Luckily we probably won't be listening to it again until the exam. I'm more nervous about listening to it alone while studying for said exams.
