This poem is based off 4 short sentences:
I extended it for poetry purposes.

    Suicide... It haunts my mind

Trapped in chains, darkness is my prison.
To live or die, I cannot make my decision.
To once love and to know love's touch.
To cry in sadness when lost so much.
Make a smile to hide the pain.
Telling a lie again and again.
To wear a mask to show no sadness.
To hide away from all the madness.
To be as silent as the night.
And to have never seen the light.
    Every night sad and depressed.
    Every night awake without rest.
The night is cold and the world is silent.
Again and again, things become violent.
How I could be left so alone and abused.
It's the apologies that leave me confused.
    Horrible memories forever engraved.
But perhaps someday I shall be saved.

And yet these two lines hit home most for me.

My major is Criminology and my CSI professor once told me that "it's human nature to be infatuated with death and everything that surrounds it". So there, see, we're nothing but normal.I have a friend who lost his father to suicide and then his brother. Now he has just lost a son to suicide.
