I have two CDs full of "Suicide Music" that I started listening to when I was suicidal. The music actually makes me feel better, as knowing someone else felt the same way I felt and actually put it in a song. Here are some of my songs about depression and suicide:

It's an old band (1990s), but I haven't heard of them until recently, all of their songs seem to be about suicide, or at least all of the ones that I liked.
It's ''soft'' metal (melodic death metal).

REM - Everybody Hurts
Megadeth - A Tout Le Monde

Here is a list of songs about suicide, my estimate is that there is at least 500 songs about suicide here.

Gloomy Sunday or the Hungarian Suicide Song:

It has been covered by many artist since it was originally released in 1933. It is a tale of how a man cannot live after the death of his lover and contemplates ended his life to be with her. Very dark and haunting. Billie Holiday did a version, but my favorite version is Elvis Costello's. He also did a song called Dear Sweet Filthy World.

I also listen to the following when deppressed: sonata arctica, blind guardian, stratovarius, gary jules - mad world and most melodic metal in general.
