Standing on the edge of the freezing cold pier,

Looking out to the rough sea, she had no fear.

The Wind blowing wildly, the waves crashing high,

Standing there alone, her only wish is to die.

The waves, they call to her, they call her name,

About to enter the water, she feels no shame.

The Police surround her, try to pull her back,

Moving closer to the edge, confidence she did not lack.

And all of a sudden, off the edge of the pier she goes,

Wearing a desperate look, and all of her clothes.

Into the cold, harsh water the woman does fall.

Inaccessible by Police – Give the Coastguard a call.

Her body entered the water at a mighty high force,

The only ones who could reach her is the Lifeboat of course.

Soon enough the Lifeboat is crewed and in the water,

Also on scene, the one left behind, her Daughter.

They pick up a police man and take him aboard,

For her to be alive, her daughter prays to the Lord.

They pull her motionless body, out of the sea,

And take her to where the waiting police officers will be.

They take her to the Lifeboat house out of public sight,

And stand and wait for the oncoming Ambulance Light.

Taken to the local hospital, is where she will spend the night

In intensive care she will never be out of someone’s sight

In the dimly lit room, the machines start to wail,

In rushes the nurses, her organs begin to fail.

Despite all their efforts, the woman did die,

And sat beside her, her daughter began to cry.

Yet another life lost in this horrible and tragic way,

Becoming a routine thing for the Coastguards each day.

Secretly wishing that this dead, successful woman was me,

Maybe one day in the future it will happen, we shall see.

I sure hope that doesn't happen with you.
That poem was beautiful and sad. I'd cry if it were physically possible for me.
