I was wondering...if you talk to a therapist about having been sexually abused will they make you tell the police or report it themselves?

    Hiya hun,

I have spoke with my therapist about being sexually abused on quite a few occasions & to be honest I didn't even consider the whole police thing.

I am assuming it's ok though cos my therapist has never mentioned reporting my abuser. I'm not 100% sure but I think they only have to report it if you are under 16 (if you live in the UK that is).

Big hugs  cos I know how hard it is trying to talk about it xx

I suppose the only chance they might have to take action is if you are still legally a child, and remain in danger. Otherwise you should be safe to divulge as much as you wish to your therapist.
