Teenage perceptions in the media

    I stumbled across this blog earlier. It's run by a RNLI volunteer. For those of you not in the know, RNLI stands for Royal National Lifeboat Institution.

    On it is this video about teenagers.

    I did an article on this back in 2006 for my college paper actually, and I agree, teenagers have been getting a bad rap the last ten years or so and it's ridiculous. People don't get away with going around mouthing slanderous stereotypes about gay people, ethnic minorities and religious groups so why do they get away with it when it comes to teenagers?

    Because they're technically children and aren't being allowed to defend themselves because they aren't taken seriously at all?
    I think that's really unfair. When I was a teenager I wasn't a knife weilding hoodie wearing chicken 'n' chip eating nightmare and neither were my friends, and that was only ten years ago.
    We can't put them all into one box, because then we might as well be backwards enough to do that with every other group in society.
