    “That Icy Face”

I look into cold, blue eyes
Made from coalesced winters across time
A vulgar display of impending death
    And I feel nothing
A perpetual numbness caused by lack of sensation

    That Icy Face
    A symbol of otherworldly peace
    Gives me a kiss
    Again, apathy

I exist as an invalid of emotion
The staircase to serenity long dilapidated
    I face an insurmountable peace
Temporal influence bowing to the end of existence
    After feelings have fled
    Facing a disjointed peace
    Without desire
    That inner fire
    Seems pointless

All portals to enlightenment are closed
    But myself, the diseased
    To reign
