The darkness, I used to be afraid
It helped keep, my childhood frayed

I learned to accept, The darkness
    Realizing, I was a mess

    The darkness, kept me timid
Till I found strength, to be livid

    I now embrace, The darkness
Feeling like a chick, in its nest

The darkness, keeping me so blind
To actual feelings, I'll never find

    Plagued, consumed by, The darkness
Despair, guilt, solitaire the feelings, I know best

The darkness, entangled throughout by mind
Peace, joy, bliss one day soon, I hope to find

Is there anything brighter than, The darkness

Probably not, for me to find
Till I lay to rest, my final time
