    Deafening Silence

    Dogs snore & cats purr,
She sighs, I creep away to cry.

    Lost words, an unwanted realism
    Leads to a quiet world.

    With others talk comes easy,
    With me its simply uneasy.

    To protect me, perhaps.
How can't she hear my heart snap?

    Harsh words, her frustration verbalized.
The silence is broken, but at what cost?

They are only words but are so hurtful to hear again,
I retreat into myself for protection, trying to avoid the pain.

    An unwanted journey, this is.
    Unfair, vicious and unrelenting.

    The deafening silence continues,
    So much to be said,
Held back by fear, sadness and broken hearts.

So sad, yet so is such a shame, when communicating is so needed and so feared...been here many times, myself
