Lets support each other through our diets..

Starting tomorrow I'm aiming to eat just one meal a day, it will only be a short diet(2-3 weeks max) because a one meal a day diet is unhealthy in the long run, I need to lose just 7lb. I'm not overweight, I'd just like to be a little thinner!

So..who else is gonna join :)

Eating one meal a day won't help you lose weight, unfortunately. Your body basically goes into survival mode and 'stores' what little food you eat because it thinks you are starving and you will gain it right back.
If you aren't overweight, I really don't recommend losing weight. If you would like to tone up eating several smaller meals a day and keeping hydrated will do better for you in the long run.

I'm on a diet.
Just started taking Alli pills

I took the full strength version of this, it's called Orlistat on prescription. After my 3 month stay in hospital I ballooned in weight from 190lbs to 250lbs. After taking orlistat along with a sensible diet I lost it all in just under 5 months.

Graham, are you sure these suppliments are not dangerous? I just heard of one in the "states", something like hydroxycut, can't remember the name...which has just been proven to cause liver damage. If anyone is going on a diet, I'd suggest the most healthy method, which is simply to burn off more calories than you are taking in. It always includes exercise with a well-balanced diet.

Of course...easier said than done! I haven't been able to do it lately which is why I weigh 250 instead of about 200, which was a good weight for me at close to 6,2".

Anyway, be careful Lynn! The above posters are right about losing weight that way, especially if you're already thin.

But thanks for the push...I'm going to try again to get to the gym and eat better.

I lost 1 stone on the one meal a day diet about 2 years ago. It works and if kept short term its not unhealthy :)

I too used to think this until i saw a recent study saying otherwise. While eating one meal a day may not be great for holding onto muscle, as far as fat loss it really doesnt matter. Good work so far lynn
