    The Human Condition

    Woe is in the world
    hitting like a hammer,
    crushing countless beneath its weight ~
    relentless in our history, unsated

    Made by Man, or Fate,
    I, not alone,
    dare to ask why it exists;
    why Faith, or Purpose,
    cannot banish it

    For some,
    there’s solace…
    Yet many are lost,
    not being able to endure its cost
    They ~ lacking Divine Reason,
    for they are abandoned in perpetual seasons
    of suffering

    For some, there is relief,
    abiding in belief…
    Or sacred acceptance perhaps,
    that answers are beyond our ken;
    Human understanding but a journey,
    and one that never ends

    but merely mortal beings,
    and not seeing its ultimate reality
    (within this world at least),
    and without compassion as a guide,
    might argue sin or evil
    for reasons Blessed Hope has died,
    and for legion, as yet, remains unborn
    (though perhaps the soul itself survives)
    It is with empathy for the latter that I am torn…

    I really enjoyed this one, it reminded me of a song lyric:

    Angels on the sideline,
    Baffled and confused
    Father blessed them all with reason
    And this is what they choose
    Monkey killing monkey killing monkey
    Over pieces of the ground

    The art you have in expressing yourself once again shines. A very bold and thought provoking piece.
