• Apologies for the issue with a bizarre redirect on the site earlier today. There was a large server update and an error in an IP address had the traffic routing wrongly. No hacking or anything nefarious and nothing to worry about. Sorry for any stress/anxiety caused. Very best wishes - SF Admin

The insanity of our society

The spraying of pesticides on lawns, that I mention in another thread here, is JUST one
shining example of this.

I just got a newish car that REEKS of that 'new car smell' and turns out to be toxic too.

I could on all day about the MANY toxic products those wonderful corporations have
no compunction about exposing all of us and the environment to.

This just makes me want to go live out in the woods, far away from this insanity.

How about you?

There's toxins in everything we eat and drink, unless you live on a farm in a rural area and butcher your own livestock and have your own well (assuming said well isn't tainted by industrial runoff from elsewhere).

I think that's why there's so much cancer in the world. They allow big agribusiness to use things in our foods and drinks as preservatives and additives that are poisonous in the long run. Cancer is really just a form of poisoning; when a certain threshold of a toxic substance is taken into the body over a period of time, cells mutate and grow out of control.

Instead of admitting that maybe we shouldn't let food makers and industry put toxic things in everything, we ignore that, stick our heads in the sand, and wring our hands over how to cure cancer. Maybe if they addressed pollution and waste, cancer cases might take a nosedive.

But then again, that would be using logic. When there's money to be made, to hell with people's health.

The way I see it, toxins and pollution and radiation all factor into the current life expectancy, so if you avoid it all you can live longer, but you aren't exactly living short because of it? If you get my meaning. Its more of a baseline. Its the only way I don't get paranoid about this stuff, but I am right there with you about the insanity of humanity, they are all certifiable.

One of the reasons I like SF is it has a higher concentration of people I see as sane.

I'm afraid the inmates are running the show.

All the world's staged, and we are being played. (for fools)
