Spoonful of sugar will help the medicine go down

Sorry I fell off of this thread. Been a real funk.

That said, I took the weekend off mostly from exercise, but I did design a quick and doable WoD (workout of the day) on Saturday, with light weights and I took a 3 mile walk. I went back to CrossFit yesterday where I'm at the very beginning stages of learning to climb a rope (and I do mean very beginning... haha). I put in 2 miles at work (!), and this morning I ran 3.

I am still trying to build my home gym, but the garage is a mess! Hoping to organize it a little this week. My giant mat came over the weekend and I'm excited to create a little space for myself.

Sounds like so many of us have great goals. It was encouraging to see that this morning.
No need to apologize it can be hard to stay on track sometimes. That's awesome you are creating a space for yourself!

Kind of fell off my updates.... Still doing Crossfit, still running. I did 5 miles this weekend, which is the farthest I've gone in awhile. Crossfit is really fun. Still have a lot to learn, and I'm disappointed with my general body composition (I posted about that elsewhere and don't feel like repeating it)... but I'm going and the workouts themselves are terrific, so trying to focus on that.

I'm messing around with diet. I realize that on some days I don't even eat 1000 calories. I upped it to 1500 and I think maybe i gained weight, so there's some panic there. I think I should go back to tracking my macros and perhaps try for 1300 calories? I don't know yet. I'm so tired and depressed, it's hard to make a decision or focus on what I need to do (what food to buy, track macros, etc).

It's ok @A_J_R you're in good company:) I've still been exercising daily, its starting to hurt a little as it will, but I keep working through it. I keep thinking about my diet and how I need to eat, more often, healthier foods etc. Not sure about that yet.

Not a problem, you just keep continue working, you have all the time of your life to improve yourself.

I ran three miles yesterday (did I say this?), and I did a short accessory workout last night at home. This morning, I had a brutal Crossfit class, which was good. But I'm still feeling so down and my body dysmorphia is hitting me hard. Every time i moved I felt so freaky and out of place, and like I stood out and everything I hated was amplified x 100. It was hard. I had a cry when I got home. Luckily, it's been busy today and so I've had my focus elsewhere. Always a good thing.

That's great! I was up early the past two days doing yardwork during the morning, so I've had to double down on the p.t. for pain control. I've been eating better also, as in I'm actually eating now. I wish I knew what to say that would help with the dysmorphia but all I can offer is a *hug

Thank you. I'm just trying to move through it and roll with it. It's worse if I try to fight it.

Coming up to the end of may. Not sure I'll get to 45 miles of walking / running, but I"ll get close.

I'm cutting back on my runs though to 2x a week, and amping up Crossfit. I'll be going 4x a week for about 5 weeks, then I go back to 3, with a series of personal training sessions starting in July. Really looking forward to it. I'm also doing nutrition with my trainer. Hoping this helps me refocus things.

Crossfit today was so challenging, and I also cut my hand on the barbell. Just a little bit, and it felt good. I'm getting a little stronger and maybe more aggressive with the weights.

I was talked into doing the Murph, which everyone does on May 31st (meaning all CF studios host this event). Here's what it entails:

1 mile run
300 squats
100 pull ups
200 push ups
1 mile run
- all in a weighted vest!

I can scale (ring rows for pull ups, and knee push ups) and break them up into sets, and no vest. I am told everyone hates it but feels good about doing it, so I went ahead and decided to give it a go!

At home, I'm doing headstands randomly throughout the day. At some point, I should be able to a handstand, but it will take some work. Headstands are so much more doable!

I'm still struggling with depression and BDD, but I had a quiet weekend that involved catching up a little on sleep so that's good.

I did this today:

30 push ups / 800m run
30 push ups / 600m run
20 push ups / 400m run
20 push ups / 200m run

That took almost 16 minutes total... (the push ups were on my knees, still pretty challenging)

Then I did 109 squats in 4 minutes.

Can I take a nap now?

I did a modified version of the Murph today. No weighted vest, and it looked like:

1 mile run

10 rounds of:
10 Ring Rows
20 Knee Pushups
30 Squats

1 mile run

I did it in under 45 minutes, so I think I must have messed up. That's the thing. I felt pretty fantastic when I finished, but now feel like maybe I did something wrong and I'm obsessed with that. But it did feel good in the moment. And I am a decent runner, so the miles were close to 9 minutes. Anyway, I was proud, now I feel like maybe I cheated but didn't realize it at the time.

That's my brain!

Lost 7 pounds. Already feeling much better.

Blood test was the motivating factor at the 2nd half of the month to kick my arse in gear.

HIGH as hell levels of ferritin. Even if iron level was low end but normal range. Its sign my liver is further deteriorated. All i did was say NO to all extra free junk food and meals
