“The Moon Said ‘I’ll Send Your Filthy Carcass to Hell’”

With a pallor of a fierce blood red
The moon gazed down on me
    Inspiring dread

“I’ll send your filthy carcass to hell,” the moon said
I heard it’s screams in my mind
    Foretelling the future corruption of
    A nocturnal, repined
    Old man

With hollowed eyes made of oblivion
    The moon saw through me
    The fragility
    Shining through

“You can’t compete,” the moon challenged
    The night was never exhausted
    Only derelict to others
    It didn’t need me
    But I needed it

“I’ll send your filthy carcass to hell...that is where you belong,”
The moon mocked a final time
In the end, I could only agree
