It's finally here, the opening ceremony is on at 7pm GMT (in 2 hours) and the first game starts at 9pm GMT. Really looking forward to it but sad that J-LO pulled out in the last minute from the opening ceremony. Ireland won't be competing this time round so I will be bulling for England. After all, Gerrard is a fine thing lol!!! So who is going to be watching the world cup and what country will have your support? I'm so happy to be making this thread, waiting for the world cup all year, literally lol!

I'm just disappointed Lithuania didn't qualify again.

    It's all about Espana!

If the US doesn't make it, I am rooting for Spain all the way!

    Mwahahahahahahahaha!

I think it was Croatia that scored first, but Brazil did win the game.

their are 2 things i know for sure about the world cup.

    1. england won't win it

    2. i'll be avoiding the world cup like people want to avoid the plague. i'm not a football person at all

saying that it's everywhere isn't it, so by the end, i'll probably know quite a bit about it (i've all ready heard the official song twice!)

Watched the last WC (South Africa) but not really into it much this time around. Then I had some friends to watch with but things have changed. Also interest in spectator sports seems to have diminished with age. In my teens and 20s I cared who won but now just figure what difference does it make?

If I do get interested I would be backing Holland. They are always good but eventually lose to bigger countries like Germany and Brazil. Went there long ago and the people seemed friendly.

I was rooting for Spain. They had such gusto last time! It was disappointing as Chile whomped them into the ground.
