The Other Side

  1. Tentatively,
    straddling the line
    of what was once sublime;
    Sanity
    Losing my foothold,
    its view comes and goes
    And I’m destined to
    remain standing on the edge,
    that is,
    until I fall
    off the ledge…
    into sheer madness ~
    I fear it’s where I’ll land.
    For as I remember
    what I once possessed,
    it is so nearly enough to drive me
    from where I stand,
    so far from where I was,
    away from the other side…
    The other side
    where reason did not fail me,
    and beauty came in bounty,
    and soul
    was all
    I
    needed
