I'm really really really sorry if I trigger anyone... I triggered myself by writing this... but I had to get it out...

    There was nothing
    About her on that day

    Not her smile
    Looks or mood
You could not have guessed there was something wrong
    As she bade goodbye

With a smile on her face
And a spring in her step

Unless you heard his drunken mutter in reply

Or if you were there the day before
    With her mother screaming
    “Please no more”
    Only to be thumped
    Again and again
    Against that cold hard wall

As she was made to sit and watch
    Unable to do anything
For threats of being thrown too

    So she chose to watch
As her mother got bruise after bruise
And as guilt tore the poor girl apart
    To breaking point
    Yet again

    For her it was time
    To try yet again
    Escaping from
    Her prison called life

    Her solution
An ending to all trouble and strife
    And being trapped
    Caged in a dark room
    With no light
    But lots of bloodshed

    Walking quickly
    To the pier
    Poised to jump
    And surface again never
    Then it occurred to her...
Was it really the right time and the right thing to do?
    Forget it she thought
    I don’t care about living
    And then she jumped
And made no effort to swim

    Her clothes were heavy
    And as she sank
    She didn’t fight it

It was time and she knew
    To go to freedom
    It all faded away
    She realised
    There was none

For as she went through the last bit

    Of her demise
    Saw only
    Another prison
