    The Realization

The days of being hopeful and ambitious are forever gone
The only life I have ahead of me are days of misery beginning at dawn
To be forever young and to never decay
I was too busy fooling myself to truly see
That I let the best years of my life slip away from me
But now it’s not myself I have to worry about, but the forces of life itself
And if I could turn back the clock, I would in a heartbeat
But I cannot, so what am I to do
Even at the end I’ll refuse to admit defeat
I need to find a way to break through
But I’ve not got the slightest clue
Of what I'm supposed to do

    Hello Mike,

I think some of us here can definitely relate to living in the past (myself included). In a nutshell, I enjoyed seeing how you put it all together, and I'm really digging your latest poems! Great stuff; keep it up! :stars:
