I hate hate hate HATE writers block...and I hate forcing myself to write when I cant come up with anything... like when I was writing this, but still here ya go:

A friend of mine told me
    to write a poem
    on the topic of rhetoric
for days, weeks, months I have tried
    to write this poem
    but
as soon as it seems to be getting somewhere...
    the dratted thing goes
    Kaput.

I know that this poem has to be good
it'll end up being The One
and so to save The One some dignity
    whatever I have written
    goes
    straight to the recycling bin

(well why not save a tree, hey?
at least something will come of this)

There is always something wrong with it
    too much rhetoric
    or the rhythm I abhor
    similies, metaphores
it annoys me to my core

    But I wont give up
    as I know one day
this masterpiece will find a way
to make its appearance on paper....

    one day...

I guess I'll save this poem of yours
to work on again in a day, maybe more

    So I apologise, my friend
    the poem won't come today
the use of rhetoric is a tough topic, I must say

a poem though this may be
    and though it contains rhetoric
this poem was just to say
    that writer's block is catastrophic
