    They Will Say

What a sweet boy he was
    Always kind and polite
Never one to get in fights
    He loved the simpler things
A good book, a sad tune
A movie to fit the mood
    Wasn’t he so bright?
    Always did well
How could he have made his own life hell?
But not long after I decay
    They will learn
    And they will say
What a confused man he was
In a constant state of pain
    Was he ever really sane?
Now look at this awful man
I hope he burns for his sins
The world's a better place without him

By your poem, I can tell the last line is not true, but it can feel that way and poetry is a creative way to express those feelings. wish you happier times.

It's a very sad poem, but well written. I do like the alternating thoughts they have about this person, though I'm not sure why.

:coool: It has a very prose feel.. flows naturally.. like I can tell it's your voice speaking to us. Hope you're doing alright today, Mike.

    Thanks for you wishes :)

The person the poem is about is me, if that wasn't clear. I kind of imagined my funeral and what people might say. Thanks for reading!

As always, thanks for reading! Yeah, this one was really hard (emotionally) to write but I'm doing okay. :)
