    It slips around my skin,
    A lover's caress,
The form that I've fit in,
    Woven with strife and stress.

    Lapping at the edges,
    My dark and troubled waters,
    The boulders that it wedges,
    Drowns my faith that falters...

    I'll open up my chest,
    Expose the soul within,
    I've always done my best,
    To hide under this skin...

I feel it seep, the chilling creep
    The black that slides within...
I feel it hold, the darkness cold,
    Slow death the black begins.

I know that I may not return,
Once I have let him in,
I know that I will only burn,
    Inside my cage, this skin.
