I am but a piece of twine tied upon a limb
All about me blows the wind, my width grows thin
Over and over it unwinds the twine of my soul
Down to the last thread left bare
Now to what will I hold,
    And do I even care?

I love your use of symbolism. All in all a great poem. Thanks for sharing.
