But here's something I penned when I was diagnosed with depression in 2007

    Turning Point

    Each day i'm alive
    I'm grateful that
    I am able to survive
    By looking around
    In every town
There are some that cant be found

    Pre-chorus 1
    Because of what happens
    And what goes on behind
    Closed doors is painful
    So then I will find

    Chorus 1
    That I am so lucky
    To have all I do
    I am so thankful
    For friends just like you
    I never believed
That I would ever get this low
But now this is where I turn it around
    And start to show

    Verse 2
    That I can be
    So full of esteem
Show the real side of me
    Many don't realise
    I'm a normal guy
Who just wants to get by

    Pre-chorus 2
    But nature takes its course
And love will find a way
    Of helping everyone
    Survive their troubled days

    Chorus 2
    And I am so lucky
    To have all I do
    I am so thankful
    For friends just like you
    I never believed
That I would ever get this low
But now this is where I turn it around
    And start to show

Ironically I wrote it in 2007 when I was diagnosed with depression the first time.

And this is the original/slightly rough edged version
