Trans body issues

#1
I’m ftm trans and my body is so curvy. I feel like if I lose a lot of weight I’ll finally pass, even though I know that’s mostly irrational. I want to starve myself but I did it for years and quite honestly, I’m too tired to deal with that again. I feel helpless and I’m not sure what to do

Sometimes exercising and body building can change the shape of our bodies, i think that is much more rational than starving yourself plus starving yourself is dangerous and we don't want any harm to come your way.

Would you contact a personal trainer and see if they can help?

I agree, these are more my irrational thoughts than any semblance of a rational solution. Unfortunately I am not yet 18 nor financially independent so a personal trainer is out of the question, but I am going to start going to the gym. I don’t know, the dysphoria was just really getting to me

Sorry to hear the dysphoria was getting to you, but yeah definitely join a gym, its good to get healthy and getting out socialising, killing two birds with one stone.

Hahaha, I feel like that all the time. SF is amazing and just knowing others are willing to help me if I need it is such a great boost.

Yup,definitely a breathe of fresh air, I'm glad you made your way here, there is a chat room here too if you want to talk to other members in real time, there's a social chat and support chat (its the arrow at the bottom right hand side of the forum).

It's nice to meet you by the way :)

Bodies come in all shapes and sizes. I can relate to feeling too curvy. I have a poor relationship with food, but I'm learning how that can be destructive. Going to the gym and building muscle sounds like a much better option here. It also can help to wear the right clothes. I find that depending on what I wear can change people misgendering me.

Yeah I make sure to wear clothes that conceal my curves and according to other people I don’t look like I have them at all but I can sure still see them //:

We're our own worst critics. I look at myself and I see things that others don't. I've had this conversation over and over again with people who know me. I'm not completely convinced that changing the physical is the only answer. It is equally about rethinking our perceptions and figuring out which of our thoughts are truth and which are self deprecating falsehood.

Yeah I get what you’re saying. I’m trying hard to be more positive about myself and stop self deprivation language
